Pacifica Color Quench Lip Tints – Tried and Tested

I mentioned in a previous blog post that I had a few of the shades of the Pacifica Lip Tints and that I might do a full review with photos. I had three of the five shades so it seemed like a good excuse to complete the set and do a full review! You can purchase all shades of the Pacifica Color Quench Lip Tints* from LoveLula* and they’re just £7.49 each.

In this post I’ll share photos (alongside photos of my natural lip colour) and a review of the colours and scents for each shade, but firstly let me just say that the texture for all of these is very similar if not identical. It’s a lovely smooth balm which is fairly thick but very moisturising. It lasts a long while (particularly for a balm) and I find I only need to top it up every 2-3 hours. Each one is a subtle shade so you can easily apply it without needing a mirror, and they all wear well – they’re not really pigmented enough for how they wear to be an issue. Having said that, they are all different in appearance and although they’re subtle they do give a different type of look and finish (which means having all five is totally justifiable in my opinion!).

Before I get into each shade separately, here’s a photo of all of them swatched side by side:

And one in the sunlight to show the sheen:

Coconut Nectar

Coconut Nectar is described as a “shimmery golden raisin”. It’s a fairly neutral brown shade; not too cool or warm toned in my opinion, but the finish is quite shimmery which I think gives it a cooler toned finish (I would have said silver rather than gold) which reflects in the sunlight. I think it gives a flattering sheen, and this does last well. If you don’t like a more frosty appearance this shade might not be something you love, but I think because it’s fairly neutral as a shade it doesn’t look too frosty. The scent of this one is what you’d expect from a coconut scent but it’s not too sweet. I tend to wear this on a day when I want a neutral shade, perhaps because I’m wearing bright colours (unusual for me) or if I’m not wearing make up and just want something to condition my lips and add a bit of dimension to my face! It’s the one I tend to reach for when I’m heading to the gym.

Vanilla Hibiscus

Vanilla Hibiscus is described as a “pale pink with a touch of pearl”. This is the one that I find the least pigmented as you can see from the initial swatch of all five shades. It’s lighter than my natural lip colour so it does lighten my lips slightly as you can see, which to be honest I’m not usually a fan of. It’s only a subtle change though as it’s so light in coverage, so I don’t mind it too much. This is probably my least favourite colour on me though. However, the scent of this one is incredible – possibly my favourite! I love vanilla anyway, but some vanilla lip products can be so sweet and this doesn’t have that for me. Just lovely. It’s the one I reach for when I want to focus on a lovely experience rather than the look.

Guava Berry

Guava Berry is described as a “quintessential berry stain”. I wrote a full review of this one previously and it’s the one I tested in my natural make up video. It’s probably the closest shade to my natural lip colour so it doesn’t add a lot in terms of colour, but it does deepen my lips slightly and adds a subtle sheen. It’s a nice fruity scent but fairly subtle. It’s the one I reach for when I want something easy to wear with whatever outfit or makeup (or lack of!).

Blood Orange

Blood Orange is described as “sweet coral with a pop of pink”. It’s the first one I bought and I wore it pretty much non-stop last summer. I’d definitely say it’s more of a coral than a pink; if anything on me it’s quite red toned. The shimmer in this one is lovely – it seems much warmer toned and perfect for summer months as it complements a summer glow. It’s a lovely citrusy scent; I also have the accompanying perfume. It’s the one I reach for when I want a pop of brighter colour without having to commit to a higher maintenance lipstick.

Sugared Fig

Sugared Fig is described as a “rich plummy fig with a hint of sparkle”. It’s the deepest toned shade and moving towards the mauve/purple spectrum, but again it’s only a subtle shade so not too dark. I wear quite a lot of burgundy and I find this shade complements that well. I did find it didn’t swatch as smoothly as the other shades, and it does seem a little less smooth in texture but that could just be my one. The scent is lovely and makes me want to try the fig perfume! It’s the one I reach for when I want a slightly darker lip; I imagine I’ll be using this a lot in autumn and winter.

So there you have it – my review of each of the shades of the Pacifica Color Quench Lip Tint. You can see them all together in this rather freaky looking image:

In summary

I absolutely love the Pacifica Color Quench Lip Tints and use them all, and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a low maintenance subtle lip colour that conditions the lips and smells wonderful.

Pacifica Color Quench Lip Tint – Guava Berry

I got some of the Pacifica Color Quench Lip Tint* as part of my ‘face of natural make up’ for my LoveLula* video (I got it with credit I was rewarded but am reviewing it as if I purchased it myself). You can see the video at or see it embedded in my earlier blog post (which links to each of the products).

This is the only item I bought that I had tried before. I actually have two other shades of this (so that’s probably a clue about how I feel about these!).

I don’t tend to wear lipstick often (mostly because of the maintenance and how it wears), but I do like to wear lip balm and it’s even better if it has a slight tint to it. These beauties are scented too and are just lovely.

They’re vegan, cruelty free, natural, and formulated without parabens. Coconut oil is the main ingredient so of course these are very moisturising. I wasn’t sure what to expect from Guava Berry but from the description and swatches I saw online it looked like a pale purple/mauve shade, and I can confirm that’s what it is. It’s also an amazing scent/flavour!

It leaves a lovely sheen and lasts pretty well. I find it very smoothing and because it’s just a tint it doesn’t go patchy and can be reapplied without a mirror. I’ve been using this almost every day recently and really like it. I can wear it without any make up but it also adds enough of a tint to wear with make up and look more polished.

In summary

Another excellent lip tint product and one I’ll be using in regular rotation with my other ones.

I’ll certainly be looking at the other shades and may get more. If I ever use this up I’d definitely repurchase – I think they’re great and particularly like this scent and tint.
